Alcohol, when ingested, is absorbed into the bloodstream, which carries it through all the organs of the body, including the lungs. The concentration of alcohol in the exhaled air can be quantified with one of our OCIEngine Ethanol sensors.
Exhaled air contains many gases and biomarkers. It is appropriate to measure the concentration of these gases, especially CO2, to ensure that the person is in good health. Indeed, an unusual concentration of CO2 in the exhaled air can be a symptom of a disease.
An excessive amount of acetone in the breath can be the consequence of diabetes or other diseases. It is therefore interesting to measure its concentration.
